You need a system that guarantees clubs home games, and with the flexible nature of 7 game playoff series the teams that don't own their arenas won't be able to schedule such fixtures.

POFW would be a great version of the CC final though.

The whole Challenge Cup competition needs refreshing. We have said it for years .
The comments above highlight where it is falling apart.
We need a new competition , with a new name and new and fairer rules.
Just abolish it, there is no need for three trophies when there are only 10 teams competing. The sole purpose it exists is to generate revenue for clubs, so why not just extend the league season?

Scrap the cc comp and have best of 7 series end of season for playoffs
Never going to happen sorry.

The Arena clubs are competing with other events for use of the arena. If they booked 4 nights but then lost in game 4 they’d still have to pay the thousands of pounds in rental for the unused nights.
And that’s assuming they can book the nights at short notice anyway. Just look at the ridiculous situation in the CC where Belfast are already selling their tickets before the other semi final is completed.

Why ridiculous.. It's not the first time on the Inferno that it's been noted the current owner's view and need to make business decisions. Or is selling tickets now got a moratorium?

Hmmmm. don't see many fans from the winning club , or club owners pushing that agenda

Belfast were offered 50% of the tickets available to fans. The Giants managment chose not to take it and instead requested a smaller allocation.

Teams were allowed to bid on hosting the final. For a couple of years only Cardiff bid for it.
And Cardiff bought the finals, not as an act of compassion. It was a business / money-making operation. And I again state Belfast was not offered 50% on an official basis. The clubs had a discussion, and as the final were being held at Cardiff, on a Sunday, late afternoon, it was acknowledged the Giants fans could not travel to/from Cardiff on a Sunday in one day. Flights would not permit it. So please, don't paint any club as holier than thou. Its money... Nothing else. Every club is guilty. It's just the small, insignificant crowd on forums that beat their chests in indignation

That's not correct... An allocation was made, but it was not 50/50.
As for a neutral venue, since the introduction of single-game finals,2014, were the Devils were in the final, they have hosted that final at home more than any other team. l.
Because we bid for it I understand.
