Great player, fantastic vision of the game - if he had Fournier’s skating ability would have gone all the way. Hard as nails and never shied away from fighting anyone.

Hotham was a truly gifted maverick who would make howlers when not concentrating....only to compensate with the most brilliant plays on his next shift. His hockey I.Q was so high he literally could, and did, change games on his own.

Lord found him infuriating. In training sessions, Lord used to let Hoth just do 'his thing' rather than any formal practice of systems or tactics! But he acknowledged Hotham's importance to our winning teams over the years.

We were so lucky to have him for that time. The mark of Hotham, the man was how he left our Club/retired from the game without any fanfare or fuss.
