Talk this side of the pond is that a NHL lockout is looking increasingly likely, possibly until christmas or maybe longer. If that happened to you think the league might let teams carry an extra import (just for the period of the lockout)? These guys are going to want to keep playing and I'm sure theres some NHLers out there that might want to come and play a few games and see some castles during their extended summer break.
I wasn't following the sport very closely during the last one but I know some guys came over, not sure exactly how that went.
I'm only plannig on living in the US for one year so any lockout is going to seriously grind my gears.
