Is it possible that I can use US games on my PS3?

if your ps3 is bought in the uk, then no, not as far as i know. Uk is PAL where US is NTSC, so different format.

NTSC/PAL shouldn't be an issue if you have a dual mode TV. Even cheap ones tend to be these days.

Not sure if Sony were using some sort of region coding though - like with DVDs. But if they were, I would have thought there would be a firmware hack about somewhere. Although, hacking your firmware will void any warranty you have (even if it is fun)/

Over my head already lol. Wouldnt know what my tv was. Just got back from hols and there were a few baseball games I would have liked
