Genuinely saddened by this and we have lost a true gent and good guy of the sport. I always loved how he reffed games back in the day and back in the WNIR. He took no shit and called a fair game and midweek games fair whistled by without the whistle. He had a vision of the sport and allowed players to play and he had a journey home too))) I remember one game when there was a bout of half-arsed roughing and we were baying for a penalty. He silenced us by shouting through the netting "no penalty for dancing!" You just do not get that connection any more. His work is done and he will be remembered.

Very sad news. As well as being a top ref at that time, he was a great character and as an administrator, he was very good to our junior club back in the early days. I really hope we can show our respect at tonights’ game. RIP Ken.
