Reading this thread takes me back to a time when I watched Justin Crandall playing for Reading Royals in the Coast.
There was one game that Cranny had a real nasty fight! Can’t remember the guys name, but he was a real heavy and unfortunately gave Cranny a bit of a pasting!
He managed to get Cranny’s helmet off and must have hit him a good 15 times straight in the face, catching his jaw and splitting his lip.
After the game, I caught up with Cranny - he looked a bit worse for wear but didn’t lose a single tooth! Not one!
I was shocked! And do you know what he said to me ? He said “Kingmo, I’ve never lost a tooth in a fight, not one tooth”. How come I said, to which Cranny replied “my favourite when I was growing up? …. American Hard Gums!”. Then he walked off! Cool as a cucumber!
True story! Honest!
