If we appeal, can Voth play on sunday?

He's got a match already apparently so he'll miss sat, but i think he might be ok to play in Cov on sunday.

From Main Devils site

[Brad Voth Suspension

The Cardiff Devils and our associates are doing everything within our power to reach a more favourable outcome for Brad and the club.
The League has announced that Devils’ Captain Brad Voth has received a 12 game suspense along with a further 12 games suspended pending a repeat offence, following the Cardiff Devils home match against Sheffield Steelers.

The Cardiff Devils and our associates are doing everything within our power to reach a more favourable outcome for Brad and the club. We would like to make it very clear that Brad has our full support. More updates will be made available as and when the situation develops.

Voth wasn't given a match on Sunday - if it wasn't for this farce then he would have been able to play.

He recieved 2 mins for instigating the fight. Which has now been deemed a sucker punch and a 6 game ban.
He recieved 5 minutes for the slash.

He did recieve a game penalty but that was because he also recieved 5 minutes for fighting/giving Dagenais a black eye and 2 major penalties = 1 game. But a game doesn't carry any further ban.

In any other sport I think an appeal would mean he could continue to play until the appeal had been held. I've got a funny feeling though in the EIHl it's the other way around. Which makes a complete mockery of it all.

I seem to remember appeal allows them to play until its heard in the Elite. With the last ban Voth got they reviewed it before the next game so it stood.

I'm stunned

We have to make the most of this - Protests of some form are in order!

I think we have to show our support for Voth on Saturday and create something quite powerful - As many pro Voth banners as we can make for Saturday as well as Voth chants!

The first Sky game is the best time for the anti-Simms stuff IMO, can't wait!

PS - To the growing number of those banned from the other forum - I've thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts!
Lets do it, banners, t shirts, flags and uh...more banners! even if its just a little something it'll make a difference!

If I was Matt I would decide at the last minute not to play the game in Sheffield. Claim we have "too short a bench due to sickness. If only we had more player who wasn't banned, we could have played".

I'd gladly take a 5-0 loss if it means Sheffield lose out on one massive pay day.

This has just made its way to the Sky Sports bosses....

Re. Sky Sports Ice Hockey coverage.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am sure you will receive further messages on the subject of David Simms, your current presenter on Ice Hockey programmes.

Firstly, Mr Simms is a paid employee of an elite league club - the Sheffield Steelers. Ordinarily i would consider this alone a conflict of interest, however in the interest of promoting the game, i feel it was right to ignore this.

However, since the beginning of this season, Mr Simms - as a direct result of his position as head of PR for the Sheffield Steelers, has engaged in a course of conduct that has and is, bringing the game into disrepute. The trashy, editorialised, libelous rubbish that this man has generated in the past week has been quite shocking. He has alienated a very large portion of the UK hockey community through his behaviour - and i cannot stress strongly enough how this will impact negatively upon your excellent coverage.

Mr Simms has shown himself to be an unprofessional, vindictive man - and he has done this through the media.

I would urge you to consider Mr Simms future involvement in Sky broadcasting. You wouldn't hire Arsen Wenger commentate on a Chelsea game would you?

You started this Mr Simms.

Dear Sir

I wish to congratulate on the excellant coverage of Ice hockey in the uk.

My only critism is employing a comentator who has publicly slated our rink and fans in his position as PR of a rival club.

I feel that after events of the last week the feelings and crowd reaction to Mr Simms if he was to attend the gross little rink in Cardiff (his players words) could damage relations between this sport we as fans love and yourselves.

I would like to see Simmsy down our tent, it is likely however that some angered fan may 'smash him up' (saying that the queue is likely to be as long as the one to the front door last week to get tickets!) If he comes down we can really hit him with offensive chants, banners etc. and really get to him and make him feel nervous in our barn! hopefully he'll screw up his commentating then and we won't hear much from him when the broadcast goes out, twat!
