Washing a red shirt?

Hi all, I bought one of the red home shirts at the last auction and it needs a wash as it's smells a bit, the only thing is I don't want the white parts on the shoulders to go pink.

I know the label has instructions on how to machine wash but my washing machine doesn't go down to 20 degrees, I just wanted to know how other people with the red shirts cleaned them? Are they safe to just put in a colour wash at 40degrees as I've cleaned a white one like that before (on its own)

Any game-worn has probably been washed so many times I doubt there will be much running left to do.

all our shirts are washed on a cold wash or colours will run

Just incase anyone's interested I just washed my shirt in a 30 degree colour wash on its own with a few colour cachet sheets and it came out fine :Banana

The surprising thing was the colour catchers actually came out with a blue tinge to them ;:|
