The plans for the new arena are submitted to committee for approval this month. See here - viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2931&start=150
We know it will have roughly 2500 seats and probably 500 standing.
Within this criteria I thought it would be fun to have a thread dedicated to your own ideal rink.
I'll get us started
I don't have a huge amount of detail in mine, but do have a couple of major requests!
1. Get the seating starting by the boards. It means the crowd are closer to the action and will prevent any balls ups with sight lines. It also means we can have a proper concourse for toilets and food (and room to move) and no stairs in the way at the front.
2. Make it a horseshoe shape please.....and have proper terracing down the one end behind the goal!
Having been out to Prague in the last month and watched a Sparta game (in what is an amazing old hockey rink) I'm convinced we must have a proper terracing section behind one of the goals. The Tesla arena has terracing at both ends and the atmosphere is amazing - and it's down to the fans in the terreced section.
I'm sure the football and rugby fans on here would agree what a difference terracing makes to an atmosphere. If we did - a visit to Cardiff would undoubtedly be the most intimidating of any arena in the eihl.
3. The corporate stuff is obviously key - most of which could then be housed above the terracing (a bit like the WNIR)
Not a great pic, but you get the idea (Tesla arena, Prague) - http://static.eventful.com/images/edpbo ... 881-8.jpeg
