Cardiff Devils Vs Coventry Blaze Challenge Match
The Cardiff Devils are offering their fans the chance to skate with the team following this season’s home-opener challenge game against the Coventry Blaze on Saturday 29th August at the Cardiff Bay Arena.
This is always a highly popular activity – especially among our younger fans, getting a chance to take to the ice with their heroes.
In addition, the highly sought-after black cup jerseys will be auctioned in the arena bar following the game. One or two red (away) jerseys will also be available in the auction. The auction was originally scheduled to take place at an event to meet the players this Wednesday in Walkabout Inn, St. Mary street. This event is no longer taking place due to player personnel arriving after Wednesday.
“We love the skate with the Devils”, said Director of hockey Shannon Hope, “as we are always trying to engage our fans up close. The look on the faces of the kids when they skate around with guys like Brad Voth and Stevie Lyle is priceless.”
The Devils are aiming to put more into their already busy calendar for the younger fans this year, and between club events, Supporters club activities, social gatherings and Jason Stone’s testimonial events this will indeed be a packed season for the club and fans.
“We’ve had an incredibly busy Summer this year” continued Hope, “and we are all very keen to get on with our fixtures and start the campaign. With our brand new main sponsor freshbaked on board and fantastic retention of our corporate partners we are in great shape for 2009/10”
