i am not sure this is a good move, Yes he can score but we moved on and i feel we have a better team this year.

So he would of clearly been offered a deal to stay and turned it down for another league similar to ours, i understand when players move up the leagues ect but are we not just second best here. I just dont see were he fits in the top 2 lines.
I'd read somewhere he had re-signed for us for this season, but had a clause in his contract that if a big offer came from Europe we would release him, which seems to have happened. He or his family couldn't settle, so he asked to be released. Nothing wrong with that. A hockey players career isn't that long, so they need to make money where they can. We have added a proven goal scorer to an already stacked forward line. Better that than go to Giants or Steelers.

Welcome home Mr Goal Sanford. Would rather him score 20 plus goals for us, rather than against us.
Any influx of goals scored for us can only be better for the team.

I am really excited to see how he gels with his new line mates and which line combination he will be with. I wonder if a hunter, cole, joey, mosey and gleason line would work ? plenty of speed n skill, but potentially lacking size.

I am chuffed Sanford is back! Natural goal scorer and he must have been doing something right to receive be the managers player of the year. He’ll be buzzing to be back after a little taste away from home - he will fully appreciate what good we have here and I reckon he will be better again this term.

Names with strong CV’s can go to any team in this league but there is no guarantee it’ll work, even within our own ranks. Perhaps they don’t settle or they gel with a team philosophy. Sanford is a guaranteed scorer in this league and for us!!! I do not buy the ‘going quiet’ in the bigger games that I have read a couple of times. Perhaps title contender opponents shut him down and have focussed on him a bit more than others knowing his firepower?? They won’t be able to focus on him this season too much though I feel as we have firepower across the line up!

Sanford’s a gem, anyone with 2 eyes and a brain knows that, he is a Devil thru and thru yes he wanted to explore Europe, who didnt at his age, but the call of Gods Country was too much for him. So welcome home buddy, let’s all work together now to show the other pretenders who we are.

The ‘pretenders’ part of this post could backfire if we don’t win anything this season…

Hopefully with Cox not affecting his play this season he will do his own thing and a big improvement in his play and just not goals. Good luck sanny.
Agreed. Cole and Joey came under criticism at times last season for disappointing performances in some games. It's very difficult when those guys were dragged down by the laziest, most selfish forward on the team playing badly.....

I get where you're coming from. At times he was so frustrating to watch. On the other hand, the double header in Belfast he absolute bossed that and was a man possessed but no arguments, we just didn't see enough of that.

They will always be pretenders in my eyes, they may win things but there pretenders alright.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like the opposition, but pretenders? I mean they are as entitled to the same success as we are, they’ve got a lot of brass in pocket to pickup some talented players. We all like to be successful, but winning a treble surely makes them the talk of the town! Would be lovely to clean up and win the treble this year, then PR could say to Aaran Fox - I’ve got you babe!

Okay I will stand by you, the others are middle of the road though, although Steelers where talk of the town last season, but their back on the chain gang now, unfortunately their not 2,000 miles away.

Harsh, did a lot of good things during his time as a devil, wasn’t great last season but didn’t look fully fit, injury the reason why he isn’t playing this year maybe

One thing that’s for sure I’d love to be where Sheffield are. They convincingly won a grand slam last season and are more than holding their own in the CHL so far. Question is, can we also win a grand slam? Time will tell…hopefully we can at least win the league considering we haven’t won it since the 17/18 season.
