The Giants don't have a secondary facility any more. Because of a new business using a large area of Dundonald Ice bowl it can no longer be used for Elite league matches. This Business has taken over the far side of the rink and behind one goal (where spectators used to be)
Is their tertiary facility still available? Cup games were previously held in Dundalk rink too I seem to remember.
we used Dundonald Ice Bowl for some home games and even held the 2nd leg of the Challenge cup final there a few years ago, but as stated above its not possible to use it for Elite league games because of the other business...as for Dundalk that rink is closed down, although there are talks it could be re-opened, but in all honesty I cannot see the Giants using that rink in the future

It would be interesting to know whether this date was forced upon us of whether there were other options.

It seems crazy that one team can gain such a huge advantage over the other due to their own lack of ice availability. Surely, this should be the other way around?

Shouldn't it be the responsibility of the organisation to provide a mutually agreeable date or forfiet the leg?
IMO, The home team should offer multiple dates, say 3 that the visiting team do not have games scheduled for, if that can not be done due to availability of home ice then they should offer to pay for a neutral venue to host the game.
If the home time can not make the above happen, the last option should be to forfeit the round not just the leg.

We've played 7 games in 12 days this season and won 6 of them. Games so close together is not ideal, but good teams battle through it and win games. Teams carrying 2 spare imports should not be that tired anyway :)

Which might have made a difference if the coach hadn't of scratched the two most rested players :DWD

Come Sunday we will have played 7 games in 10 days of which 5 of them would have been away
