saturdays will generate more money at the bar , so no brainer for the club , but yes these idiots need to be sorted , if drunk on site, need to be escorted out..
There is a fine balance between maximising any profits on alcohol, and the costs to other sides of the business, like security and, cleaning etc..
Why don't we try a 6pm face off on a Saturday ..Todd was happy to experiment with Sundays (4.30 FO) and see what impact that will have . I know a lot of city and blues fans might be inconvenienced but to give everyone a safe night of hockey is the goal we all share?

The biggest worry got to be if he mingled with the players on the ice, Has he got covid, the same as all the other idiots in block 12 ...not wearing masks.
I was in block 12 wearing my masks along with the rest of my group…family in front all wearing theirs too so don’t really appreciate the ‘idiots’ generalisation.

Final standings:
Does it work on a basic points tally? As follows (Steelers and Storm still have a game to play and Panthers have 2):
Giants - 14
Steelers - 13
Devils - 12
Flames - 11
Panthers - 9
Stars - 7
Flyers - 5
Blaze - 4
Storm - 1 (Eliminated)

So presuming stays the same as above we would face the Stars; or do we get third pick?

One idiot running onto the ice shouldn't spoil things for the 3000 fans that didn't run on. Security just need to make sure doors to the ice aren't easily accessible to fans.

My assessment of the match is that at times were we're hanging on. The latter part of the third, Flames were looking very strong. We did what needed to be done for the win but we also gifted them a goal and I thought the physical side was lacking still. Good to see McNally doing a great job. Sanford looked low on confidence and the D a little lost at times. Big Lou is playing well as is Batchy. Gutted Richie didn't grab a goal on his big night.

I thought DuPont had a pretty solid first period ‍♂️
I wasn't there last night but looking at the highlights, some nice plays from him in the first few clips. Moving well after coming back from injury, especially an ankle injury. Everyone is going to be relatively quiet in their first weekend back from injury, like McNally was last week, but hopefully he can now kick on similarly to Layne Ulmer, who was wrongly written off by many early on.

Unfortunately, there's drama at most Saturday games due to these groups of drunks, who seem to be in every block and who are not there for the hockey. I’d love to see us go back to Sunday games but bar sales are clearly more important to the club.
Money from bar sales keep the club going, that's the reality of the industry.

Sorry bud but I have a photo of block 12 from last night, a large majority of people in that block didn't have masks on small amount of people had them on but you were in a block last night that seemingly thought they were exempt.

TL91 Don’t think that’s true actually, although I may be wrong the Devils are now the operators of the rink and probably take any profits from it. Just my opinion though.

Back on to the match itself:
The Devils did OK. It was encouraging for us to come back from 2 down but boy have we missed McNally. Just shows how we are missing someone who will go to the net regularly.

Checks were finished last night, the passing was better in places and the shots taken were closer and more varied. Still at times people need to pull the trigger, some seem too scared to try and rather pass even when in a decent position.

Last night there appeared to be more genuine opportunities for one-timers both on the PP and ES - with passes being properly weighted and to the correct side for the shooter - but again taking that extra touch or 2 allows the space created be closed down and the NM get a good sight of the puck.

That side looked like the Devils of a few weeks back prior to the recent slump - not perfect but a work in progress. I fear that if we turn in the same performance tonight we may get properly turned over. Whilst not the same number as previously we are still giving up too many chances on the rush and what are soft goals - McNulty's being a fine example last night.

I'd disagree that Kozun should start tonight. He's a very, very capable backup but Carruth is the clear number 1 for me.

Finally congrats to Richie on the 900 - was hoping for a goal to make it 100 EIHL goals as well!

Here's hoping this old fool is wrong and we get a win tonight and turn our fortunes around - DuPont hat trick anyone?
It's an interesting debate around when and against whom kozun should play. From what I've, he's solid and I'd put him on par with the starting goalies from some teams (based on his puck handling, agility and rebound control). What he does lack though is experience. I'd be a bit concerned about a dirty team like Sheffield trying to game him by taking runs at him or taking sly did at him in the crease.

I think Carruth would leave the bench and beat the tar out of anyone who ran Kozun tbh, he's been looking to drop gloves since we started playing this season lol

Some random guy just ran on the ice at the end of the game.
Todd and Security sorted it out very nicely.
Embarrassing that Todd even had to ask anyone to get him off the ice. The guy got round the whole team for high-5s and still had time to wave to his mates and casually stroll off the ice. If he might have had covid (for example, could have been much worse) then bye bye Devils.

I thought Dupont had a decent game last night. Good net front presence, good use of his body and was decent exiting the zone for us (first goal aside). I wasn't there for the ice invader but clearly being able to open a door and enter the ice are the very basics of a stewards job at the end of a game. Surely every door should be covered.

Not a great performance but a good win. Confidence will come from this which can only be a good thing. I agree with some of the shouts for Kouzan to start. It sends a clear message to everyone including Carruth - you have to earn your spot.

Just watched the highlights and can see the camera work hasn't improved.

I'm sure the club would survive with a stricter alcohol policy to prevent these idiots effecting peoples enjoyment of the game on Saturday nights. Too many drunks at these games, sadly all too familiar at rugby matches too, where the game is secondary to the booze up.

Camera work was dreadful, particularly in the shootout

Yeh I’d be interested to know…bought a few drinks last night and all show Greenbank on my statement. If you buy merch it shows up as Devils so wondering what happens here really.

Not quite, it’s done on a points percentage basis -

Number 1 will play 8, 2 v 7 etc. but Devils will indeed play Stars as their respective positions are unaffected by the remaining games.
