100% agree.
As I mentioned earlier he'd stand up for his team but he was a nightmare for hitting ridiculously hard and high if a team dished it out.
I really miss him and his devils attitude.
TK and PR can love this "team tough" shit all they want but I truly believe the majority of fans would rather the toughest man In the league
I would certainly like that, having played rugby and not taken a backwards step it upsets me to see one of our own getting mugged and realistically not having a deterrent to make the culprit pay and think twice next time, if he gets away with it he'll do it again and again.

In fairness from what I’ve seen the slash was to Barrow’s stick and not body so whilst intimidating it wasn’t going to hurt Barrow. The cross check again not really going to hurt but a couple of punches maybe. Whilst I think 5 games is probably more like it in terms of ban it’s not the worst thing I’ve seen on ice and getting involved with Ulett over a prolonged period is an unwanted distraction given Barrow wasn’t actually injured on the play. I understand Ulett reacting as the Storm’s tough guy. Captain injured, Devils getting close to Nettie. If table flipped Devils fans would call for a reaction. I liken Ulett as a bit of a Faryna type player and I actually thought Devils might take a look at him in the summer but he’s possibly to much of a lose cannon. He nearly cost his team a W.

I actually think Devils need to deal with Ulett on a needs basis and not go looking for a retaliation. If he runs around then as pointed out you send Brandt to head hunt their good players until he stops or square of with him but the goals around silverware this season mean you try and rise above getting into a street fight with a lower half of the table team.
Sorry dont agree with this, Firstly Barrow was pushed into their nettie by number 20 Robert, the slash was most definately not on the stick, side of chest or shoulder area, then cross checking him to the chest and then punching him. Also to compare him to Faryna is way off to me, Faryna wasnt] a cheap shot artist, so we will have to agree to dissagree on this one buddy.

How about a truce?
Seemingly Barrow upset them in Manchester. Ullett lost the plot here in Cardiff.
Let’s play hockey next time round?
No thanks. That Ulett incident and the nature of it has been seen around the league. If we let that go unanswered next game, it’s open season for anyone to come in and try to smash us around. It needs a response.

Only problem is we don’t have anyone to answer that bell, Brandt would struggle Batch probably wouldn’t want to know, MacWilliam can’t see it happening. Don’t think we have a answer unfortunately

I tend to agree. Brandt, if he’s fit, would only be just coming back from an upper body injury, so he might not be up to it even if he is game. Batch, well we know he’s capable of mixing it up with the big boys and if it’s needed (and in my view it absolutely is), he has to step up for the team. It’s that simple. Gourley looks a decent scrapper too. One of them must take it on, preferably all 3!!

Next time we face them at home it needs to be center ice right at the start and get it out the way, if he keeps on after that then he needs to be put down with a clean open ice hit any time he is on the puck.

Ullet doesn't seem like the sort to drop things after a fight so I can imagine he will keep targeting barrow until he's either knocked out or throw from game for attacking a player again.

What did Barrow do to Critchlow
Untidy check into the boards which resulted in Critch heading for the dressing room. Barrow was a wrecking ball all night in Altrincham so whilst I am not convinced it was deliberately nasty, it had been coming all night. Like the Ullet incident it was one of those incidents where you want someone to step in and to be fair to Steve Johnson, that's exactly what he did.

Love the needle between the two teams

Remember Dyson marsh in Nottingham he had to answer the bell after a nasty hit on a panther the week before. Fair does Dyson didn't back down although he did get a pasting . Can't remember the panther though. Think it begun with J ?

Yes. Very nasty to see what happened to Tyson. Our beloved captain could hardly stand after a tussle with that beast of a man Janssen. He had to be helped off the ice.
Sadly, severe concussion from that bout not only ended Tyson's season but was a major deciding factor in his retirement from the game soon after.

Your first paragraph sounded like a the start of a Viking love story written in the Victoria era.

We completely hung him out to dry then as well.
We had a team that had a number of fighters on it and marsh still took that fight. I was fuming then and still am now that happened because marsh dropped the gloves at the tent on the night as per the code then had to fight an NHL career enforced away. Salters Hendrix hotham lord batch all there and that was needless. All it required was "cam you go after our captain we're ALL dropping the gloves" it saves marsh from a concussion. Was ridiculous.

I’ve seen an interview or podcast somewhere, I think it was Wallys, Tyson said that he wasn’t going to take the fight. He was told to not go by Lord, said he wouldn’t then got caught up in the emotion of the game and situation and went for it. Or maybe he said he was going to take it but just hug it out and just stop Jansen going, but ended up swinging wildly.
