I don't think the management need to announce a signing just to please those of us who post on this forum. I don't particularly mind when an announcement is made just as long as when we qannounce signings they are players who will contribute to a successful season. Whilst I'm not G's biggest fan, he is the man entrusted to deliver the goods and I'm really hoping for a change in our fortunes this coming season.

God, I hope we don't continue the negativity. :evil: Whilst it's sad and unfortunate Prps has left the Devils, he is not irreplacable. It does leave the Club with a dilemma to recruit his replacement but a great opportunity to spend part of the budget again that had already been commited to Prps.What he did to merit being released must have been serious - we have to respect G, with Shannon and Matt's backing, for taking action to deal with it. Let's just accept it and move on......... :roll:
How anyone can say our roster looks average and we won't win anything next season is a bit premature to say the least! Probably our most exciting signings are yet to come...and just because some of them may not be the 'big names' other clubs are announcing doesn't mean they won't be the quality players who will make a crucial contribution to this team's success...... and who's to say that some of those signings won't be any of 'the big names'?

Geez,no-one knows the story in full but are making out that without Prps the Devils will collapse !!
He has gone because G has seen fit to sack him due to incident/problem/whatever. He is the coach and he does what he thinks is right for the Devils organisation and Shannon and Matt obviously feel he made the right decision as they are quite clearly backing G.

As far as making another signing announcement is concerned, I'm sure that the Club will want to do that as soon as they feasibly can - also as a morale booster for fans. But, they will do it when they are good and ready and the deal is done. Shannon and G have both intimated that the pool of good available players is good at the moment and the Club has 'lots of lines in the water'. A clear message G is on the case.
Yep If I was Nottingham I think I would be as upset about another team picking up one of the top Brits we had, as I would be pleased with the signings they have made in defence.
Also Belfast, who have made the most interesting import signings so far IMO, clearly believe in the brit goalie route and did not want to loose Stevie to us.

I know we havent signed our best imports - and in that i mean first line imports, but at the moment our team is a lower standard than last season! we have a lower standard of goalie in Lyle (compared to Aubry) and with Richardson coming in we have an extra Brit who plays on D but is he better than Maciver? i don't think so, we will have to fill those remaining import places with top end imports or we won't be any better than last season, and before i get flamed this is my opinion and thats it, cheers...
Whilst i'm not estatic about prps leaving i have to say that when jay signed nobody had heard about him and look at the figs he put up last year!!.G has done what he thinks is right so instead of belly aching lets just crack on and wait for the next signing,If there had been problems with prps in the season then G would have been slammed for not doing it sooner, give the guy a break we are supposed to be fans of the devils and support them everytime i guess now is a time to show G that we do back him and the decisions he makes also the players he signs.
