It's not just an issue for the Devils, any event using the main arena is going to have concerns regarding access and security control. Having the rest of the facility open to the public without adequate segregation is bonkers.

Again, yet another issue that was pointed out pre build on the IAW thread.

Yes, having both pads does allow public on the one pad and coaching on the other pad, but does that generate enough revenue to justify both the build and the running costs. I doubt it.

Phone access or wifi isn't a god given right but its very hand for a organisation like the devils to have people tweeting and engaging with social media from the venue. Unfortunately even phone lines seemed too futuristic for the IAW at one point so I can't see much changing with the current people in charge

If many arenas over here (N America) are any indication, you'll lose your ability to leave/re-enter for any reason (smoking, medication, wi-fi etc) in the near future.

And that is fine - provided you know you can plan

My only concern at IAW would be lack of mobile reception for those who need (not just want/would like) it

Not sure, though, that IAW has enough space for general socialising away from the bar & cafe

I read this article and thought of you guys:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-37468560
That's helpful. Why not just butt out if you can't type anything constructive?

I find it odd that you can get WiFi and phone reception in a back alley cafe, but not in a brand new, multi million pound, sports complex.
I don't think being able to make/receive a phone call is asking a lot. Why it's 2016.

Absolutely. This needs to be urgently addressed, if only on a Public Relations level at least. I am NOT having a dig in any way at the IAW or any of its management and employees. I was told towards the end of last season that this matter would be addressed during the close season still yet nothing has been done. Just a statement of fact and nothing more.

It's a modern phenomenon of certain new buildings, thanks to advancement in building materials. It generally causes issues in builds such as the IAW, which is a basic design using all the materials that cause issues. Having said that solutions to the issue have been developed which remove the issue.

Again it's basics.

Yep we've had this discussion before. I think the construction is either forming a faraday effect or it just has very thick walls (less likely) You can buy signal boosters to fit inside buildings for this very reason but I expect its very low on the IAW list as they appear to be unable to keep basic restroom maintenance up. Come join me in block 1, I seem to have no problem with (o2) signal where I sit.

I'd imagine that icetime connect directly to a wired connection. You'd never try and stream wirelessly out of the arena. Well they had to at the BBT but that was necessity not choice.

To add a bit of balance Phone/Wifi is same as Principality Stadium I.E no Wi Fi and any mobile signal just goes as soon as there is a number of people in the stadium... Only 4G tends to get through there., But if there is anything that could be done for phones I think IAW should look at that

Why don't the Devils invest in a public domain wifi connection issuing unique passwords to season ticket holders (free benefit to ST people) then selling access ad hoc to anyone who can't stay offline for a few hours. Even a nominal fee 50p for game night merely to cover the hardware and line rental costs. If the deal with IAW was reciprocal then the teenieboppers at the discos etc could waste their money instagraming from public sessions further bolstering the funds.

Honestly... I just can't BELIEVE people are complaining about IAW when we have been in the BBT for 10 years previous. Not having phone signal and having to smoke in a kettled area??? Jesus Christ #firstworldhockeyproblems.
