2016/2017 Rumours & Offseason Random Shenanigans

I'm not sure why our tough guy, if we even do sign one, has to be able to put up points. We are evidentally running 4 lines this year, we dont need 4 lines of scoring, that would be a complete wrong balance.

If we want a tough guy, sign a tough guy - not someone we expect to score 30 goals a year. So long as they can hold their own and play an efficient defensive game I dont care how many they score. When tough guys are too valuable they are targets for opposition and also too important to lose. Janssen was so effective last year, probably one of the most effective tough guys in the league, yet he hardly troubled the scoreboard.

We seem to have this obessession with having tough guys who are very good players, it's as if we are 'better than that'. Role players have existed with the best of teams, in the best leagues, for decades. If we dont sign a tough guy, fine, but it also sits fine with me if we sign a real role player.

I think for me it isn't being against a One Dimensional tough guy, but they need to skate. That was Janssens big plus point last season, he could get up and down the ice and make a contribution, in a way that i don't think Coventry's guy will be able to do.

There again it's nothing new for our club to sign a scrapper who can also play, Voth, MacWilliam, Waresy, Norris, Hendrikx to name a few.get your view though and agree.

I am just praying we bring in a toughman this year. I think we especially need one going by what the other teams have signed up. Otherwise, I've got a feeling we will get bullied quite abit. Especially if Hendo isn't coming back. ☹️☹️

A few names to throw into the pool that are "of the mould" that I hope we're looking for, although these standard of players tend to jump from LIIGA-DEL-SWISS A-KHL, it could be possible that we can poach a player from the top European leagues.

There should be a few AHL level tough guys looking oversees with the recent rule changes, which is in my opinion why we are holding out so long for ours.

The last thing I want us to end up with a player with zero offence/experience at a higher level, for me Klotz at Coventry is an awful signing.

116 ECHL games, 6 goals, 17 total points and a -33 rating? What on earth do they see in him?
A couple more of big d-men who are currently free;

Yowzer - that looks like a great signing. This year is going to be tough

With Blaze's last two signings, they've definitely added a lot of toughness to their team. They've also managed to avoid a pointless fighter on the defence too so far, which I feel has been an issue in recent years for them.

This gentleman has announced he is headed overseas to complete a Masters degree, although no indication that it's the UK, maybe he's headed to a UK team?

Actually kinda knew he was signing in Coventry but didn't trust my source to go and stick a name to it

Just a thought, but he seems to be a good replacement for Bruton. Perhaps Bruton isn't coming back?

Different type of player to Bruton? Bigger, tougher, and and put up the points? I'd have been happy with him here.

Simms on Periscope says!!
Bisonette won't be a devil..
He said Jeff ulmer is talking to Devils and could join us, if true I would be very happy.
He says Ben Davies could end up anywhere no one knows anything about him.
Daryl Lloyd talked to braehead but nothing confirmed and doubts he will be a giant this season.
Murphy will be back with Giants. 3 officials next year as the league can't afford the 4th,

Maybe a few other things but i can't remember it all.

Well now Hervato is not returning time to start looking for another Euro passport holder. I'd like another bigger guy if we can get one along with a heavyweight
